Most universities are very welcoming to their new students. Last week my uni, St.Thomas University, threw an empowerment/ welcome event for the the new students and of course the incoming freshmen. The event consisted of fun icebreakers, great good, and of course an empowerment workshop. The STU cheerleaders attended the event to hype up and cheer on the crowd as the event took it's course. It was a fun filled day and ended with a delicious BBQ.
I'm so happy I was able to attend and meet so many new people! Its hard coming to a new school with new people that you have never met before. Events such as this one are great ways to connect with others and learn about things going on within your school. I highly recommend those who are freshmen to go to events such as the one we had today, and even if its not your first year feel free to go and make others feel welcomed.

This is great! Having a welcoming event at a University makes life so much easier, and makes you feel so much more comfortable with your surroundings!
